The motor has overload protection and stops automatically when the blade has reached its end stop. Although the current is connected, the motor is not damaged if blocked. When system voltage is connected, the motor starts and tensions the return spring at the same time. The motor stops at its end position and is not damaged by blockage, although system voltage remains. When the power is cut, the damper closes when the drive motor freewheels and the return spring pulls the blade back to its original position. If you want the damper to open instead of close, you can undo the two nuts on the spindle clamp, turn the spindle 90°and tighten the nuts again. In outdoor installation, the motor should be protected from direct UV radiation. The motor is installed at a distance from the damper, which makes it easy to insulate the ventilation duct. JSM is a manually operated jalousie damper for the closing off or regulation of ventilation systems. The damper is built on a frame made from galvanized steel sheet. The damper blades are made from smooth, extruded aluminium profiles with silicon sealing strips on one side, and on the other the side grips to a rubber seal when the damper is closed. The damper blades are in the end sealed with a gasket made from synthetic material. On the outside of the frame, the damper blades are individually fitted with fine-tooth ratchets, which ensure a very low torque. Axle shaft 15 x 15 mm is mounted directly to the external ratchet. Rectangular regulating damper Consists of a duct with trapezoid corrugations and a turning blade. Blade angle can be adjusted 0–90° using the knob in the cup, and blade angle is read from an embossed scale on the edge of the cup. Locking is done by two Pozidriv screws (PZD2). The damper is provided with a joining profile at each end. The length is normally b + 10, but the damper can also be ordered in special lengths. The cup allows an insulation thickness of 50 mm. If thicker insulation is needed, add the special insulation cup IK to the damper. Maximum size for the damper is 600 × 600 mm. LKSR is equipped with joining profile type RJFP.

- To eliminate or minimize the number of ordinary duct cuttings at building site – together with pre-cut ducts of shorter lengths. In this case the slide-in coupling shall be secured with screws or pop rivets.
- To assist when inserting or adding an other product into an existing system. E.g. the cutting-in of an extra silencer. In this case the slide-in coupling shall be secured with screws or pop rivets.
- To assist when removing an other product when cleaning a system. E.g. the removal of a damper with a obstructionable blade. Lindab do not recommend this use of larger dimensions than Ø315.
- To facilitate access when inspecting and/or cleaning a system – by simply sliding the coupling. The coupling acts as an access cap. Lindab do not recommend this use of larger dimensions than Ø315.
- To extend the distance between a T-piece and an access cap, e.g. EPFH or KCU, to get the cap outside any insulation. In this case the slide-in coupling shall be secured with screws or pop rivets only at its female end.
